1. Download Trezor Suite
Visit the official Trezor download at trezor.io/start and choose the Trezor Suite for desktop (recommended) or continue in the browser to use the web app. Download only from the official domain to avoid phishing and tampered installers.
2. Install and open the app
If you downloaded the desktop Suite, run the installer and grant standard permissions. The web app is available immediately from your browser and does not require installation. For the best experience and hardware compatibility, Trezor recommends using the desktop app.
3. Connect and initialize your Trezor
Plug in your Trezor device and follow the on-screen instructions to create a new wallet or restore an existing one. During initialization you will set a device PIN and be shown a recovery seed (seed words). Record the recovery seed on the supplied recovery card; do not store it digitally.
Important security note: Trezor devices generate the recovery seed on-device. Never enter your seed into a website, email, or phone app. Keep the recovery seed offline and private.
4. Verify and secure your wallet
After initialization, verify that the device shows the same address displayed in Trezor Suite before sending funds. Set an optional passphrase (advanced users only) and consider using a hardware-backed backup (e.g., metal seed storage) for long-term protection.
5. Move funds to your Trezor
When you are ready, follow the Suite’s guided flow to receive assets. Use the address shown by the device to confirm correctness. For migrating assets from exchanges, follow the official transfer guides to prevent mistakes and avoid fees surprises.
